UV Water Purification in Terryville, CT
Ultraviolet light inactivates bacteria, viruses and protozoa such as Giardia and Cryptosporidium. It adds no chemicals and does not change the taste. It also removes nothing, so it pairs with filtration instead of replacing it.
Bear Water Purification connects Terryville, CT homeowners with plumbers who fit UV two ways. A small UV stage after an under-sink RO membrane protects drinking water from anything growing in the storage tank. A point-of-entry UV unit, sized in gallons per minute, treats the whole house. That second setup is common after a boil notice, a positive coliform test, or on any home storing water in a tank or cistern.
Water clarity decides whether UV works. Iron, hardness and turbidity coat the quartz sleeve and shade microbes from the light, so a sediment filter goes ahead of the unit.
The lamp gets replaced every 12 months, about 9,000 hours, even if it still glows. Output fades long before the light goes out. The quartz sleeve gets cleaned at the same visit.
